A new game is taking mobile gaming by storm: Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile. With tens of millions of downloads in one week, it climbed the leader boards of the most popular “action” app surpassing it’s little brother Fortnite.

What many might think as something bad for the kids downloading it because it simulates gun violence, and that is a real problem right now in the real world. There is no real statistic that proves that violent video games play a part in these recent shootings.

But it actually turns out to be pretty beneficial to kids who’re interested in enhancing their communication skills with those around them.

A factor that helps with communication skills is the game is the in-game chat system that helps other players interact with people they have no relation to: strangers from around the world. They make new friends by winning games together.

One student in particular says it helped him gain more deep friendships because of the popular game.

“My friends are finally talking to me again,” said a senior student.

Another student told us about his experiences, and why he also see’s so much in this game: “It allows me and my friends to focus on communication in order to get an upper hand; doing so wins us lots of games.”

These students allowed us to see what the ending of the game looks like, with a few snapshots from the game itself:

Meanwhile, the app continues to grow in popularity, with lots of our student body jumping on the bandwagon to enjoy the fun that comes with this app.
