The UEFA Champions League Semi-finals were held this past week. Real Madrid faced Bayern Munich, while Liverpool faced Roma. During the Real and Bayern game,trailing 2-1 after the first leg in Germany, Bayern needed a win at the Santiago Bernabeu to reach the final, but it finished 2-2 as Real clinched a 4-3 aggregate win. Kimmich scored early for Bayern before Karim Benzema headed one in for Real from a great pass from Marcelo eight minutes later.

The second goal came again from Benzema, after a mistake from Bayern goalkeeper Sven Ulreich. Bayern Midfielder, James Rodriguez, scored the equalizer and it was an intense game after that goal.  Bayern had chances to win it, but Real Madrid Goalkeeper, Keylor Navas, saved every shot that came his way. Real Madrid reaches its third consecutive finals and they are looking for their third Champions League trophy.

During the match between Liverpool and Roma, Leading 5-2 after a devastating first-leg performance at Anfield, Liverpool went further ahead and scored in Roma Stadium. An own goal by James Milner, after an attempted clearance, levelled the scores. Alexander Wijnaldum’s header made it 2-1, and 7-3 on aggregate. However, Roma scored three more times to give them plenty of hope.

Edin Dzeko gave the home side hope with his a goal before Radja Nainggolan added two late goals, including an extra time penalty. However, Liverpool just kept controlling the game and their advantage. Liverpool become the first Premier League club to reach the Champions League final since 2012.

The UEFA Champions League finals will take place on Saturday May 26, in Kiev, Ukraine. With two of the most successful soccer teams in the world, there will only be one winner. Stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah will be big factors in this match. Cristiano Ronaldo is the Champions League’s all-time leading scorer with 120 goals, Real Madrid’s all-time top scorer and a four-time winner of the competition. With the World Cup returning this summer, the match is big, the energy and pressure is high. Only one will be crowned the winner of 2017-18 UEFA Champions League.
